CBC Names Bohn as Soccer Coach
CBC Announces New Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach
Phillip Bohn has accepted the position of Head Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach at Central Baptist College. CBC Athletic Director Lyle Middleton made the announcement at press conference held on Monday, June 24,, 2013.
Bohn joins Central Baptist College from Jamestown College in Jamestown, North Dakota where he was the Head Men’s Soccer Coach from 2009 until 2013 and the Head Women’s Soccer Coach from 2009-2012. During their 2012 season, the team won a school record of 16 games including their first NAIA Tournament victory and won the A.I.I. Tournament Championship in California. For this, Coach Bohn was named A.I.I. Coach of the Year.
Bohn brings a long list of accomplishments with him to Central Baptist College. He led his team to their first regional playoff appearance in the men’s program’s history in 2009, had a best women’s overall record since 2005 in 2011, led men’s team and was ranked 20th out of 199 schools in NAIA in goals-against-average in 2011, led the men’s team to be ranked number one in Unaffiliated Regional rankings on October 31, 2011, among many other achievements.
Phillips was very active in his community, working as the Director of Coaching at the Jamestown Soccer Club, head coach for the U-16 and U-10 boys team at the Tri City Soccer Club and the boys team coach for the Dakota Olympic Development Program. He also is the co-founder of “Kickin’ for Cans” indoor soccer tournament raising non-perishable items for local food shelves.
Bohn is currently working on obtaining Masters of Science degree in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University. He is married to Melody Kirkland Bohn.
