CBC Names Smith as Head Men’s Soccer Coach

Central Baptist College announces the hiring of Peter Smith as the new Head Men’s Soccer Coach.   Earlier in the week, CBC announced that Tasha Flynn took over as the CBC Head Women’s Soccer Coach.  Smith and Flynn take over the CBC program after Coach Philip Bohn left to become the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Kansas Wesleyan in Mid-July.

Smith previously served as Director of Coaching for the Arkansas Rush Soccer Club in Conway, Ark.  He has also served as Head Coach at the Little Rock Futbol Club, as an Assistant Coach with Lyon College in Batesville, Ark., and as Director of Operations of the David Beckham Academy in Los Angeles, Calif.

Smith played for Lyon College for four years.

Smith is a graduate of Lyon College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.

CBC Athletic Director Lyle Middleton said Smith’s extensive knowledge and playing experience will be a valuable asset to the team.  Middleton said, “This is a great step for our coaching staff and program.  Smith has played and coached soccer on many levels and will positively impact our recruiting efforts as well.”

CBC begins its season at Conway’s Centennial Park on August 25 against Lyon College.
