More Student-Athletes Recognized for MCAC Awards

Central Baptist College Honors Athletes Receiving MCAC Conference Awards

The Central Baptist College Athletic Department recognized more student-athletes receiving MCAC awards during recent conference games. The following athletes were presented with awards in their respective sports.

The CBC Mustang Golf Team recently participated in the MCAC Conference Tournament with both teams finishing in 4th place. Earning All-Conference awards
are Preston Harmon, 2nd Team All-Conference; Jared Davis, 2nd Team All-Conference; Rachel Harmon, 1st Team All-Conference; and Haley Sweigert, 2nd Team All-Conference. Tyler Pinney made a hole in one at the tournament.

The Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2014 All-MCAC Softball Teams in conjunction with the MCAC Softball Tournament in Conway on May 1 and 2.  Earning All-MCAC First Team honors were:  pitcher Jessica Sheldon, catcher Jordan Jones, infielder Brittany Merritt and outfielder Haley Baugh.  Jessica Sheldon was also named the MCAC Co-Pitcher of the YearAll-MCAC Second Team honors went to:  pitcher Joella Bayles; infielder Tiffani Pledger, infielder Miranda Manchester, outfield Kayleigh Harriman, and designated player Courtney Slaughter. Honorable Mention All-MCAC honors went to Raeann Surrett.

The Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2014 All-MCAC Baseball Teams, Gold Glove Team and Scholar-Athletes in conjunction with the MCAC Baseball Tournament in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. All-MCAC First Team honors went to outfielder Brady Brashier. All-MCAC Second Team honors went to second baseman Brandon Papera. MCAC Scholar-Athletes went to Caleb McNatt, Dillion Cates, Josh Buczek, and Sam Buczek.

To earn MCAC Scholar-Athlete honors, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore, earn a 3.25 cumulative grade point average or higher, and have completed at least two semesters at their present institution.
