Students Honored At Academic Awards Ceremony
Central Baptist College students were honored at the Academic Awards Ceremony held on Friday, April 27th in the Burgess Auditorium. Awards were given to students in each academic department plus inductions into the Alpha Chi National Honor society.
The Bible Department gave two awards out at the ceremony. Marianna Thomas was given the Jesse Thomas Christian Service Award and Jacob Bentley was given the Biblical Studies award.
The Business Department handed out a pair of awards also. Zach Siebenmann was the Outstanding Graduate recipient and Danielle Hightower was presented with the Servant Leadership award.
The Education Department gave their promising teacher award to Lenee Gibson.
The Communications Department presented the Outstanding Journalism and Multimedia Communication award to Jessica Sawyer and the Outstanding Oral Communication award to Olivia Farris, while also presenting awards to their Tower Media Leadership.
The Math and Science Department presented three awards: the Organic Chemistry award to Austin Kocher, the Top Score on the Assessment Test to Blake Pittman, McKay Key and Hattie Horton and the Outstanding Senior Award in Science to McKay Key.
The Kinesiology Department presented their first-ever Kinesiology Award to Madison Skelton.
The Music and Fine Arts Department presented their Outstanding Recital Award to Preston Jones and the Social Studies Department gave the John L. Ferguson History Award to Jacob Bentley.
Additionally, 14 students were elected to the Alpha Chi Society. Those 14 were: Stephen Dixon, Emily Gardner, Johnna Hoffman, Hattie Horton, Kassidy Irwin, Nathaniel Lawrence, James Lee, John Leland, Katherine Moore, Ashlyn Ohm, Cecilia Putter, Melody Siebenmann, Jade Woodrome and Sandra Wulf.
Students on the Dean’s List and President’s List from the fall 2017 were also recognized.
