Students Recognized at Annual Academic Awards Banquet

On Sunday, April 23, Central Baptist College held its annual Academic Awards Banquet for Professional Adult College Education (PACE) and Traditional Students. Honorees included students from the Dean’s List, President’s List, inductee’s into Alpha Chi, Who’s Who among College Students and departmental awards.

The Bible Department awarded the A.D. Livingston Missions Award to Krista Abel, the Zondervan Theology Award to Clay Nance, the Jesse Thomas Christian Service Award was given to Ben Brandon, Carter Mayo, and Paige McCain, and the Biblical Studies award was presented to Chris McVay.

The Music and Fine Arts Department awarded Lindsay Pruss with the Outstanding Recital Award.

The Business Department chose Brady Harvey and Cameron Reesor to receive the Outstanding Graduate Award, Zach Irwin received the Servant Leadership Award, and Zach Siebenmann was awarded a scholarship from the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Addie Bender was honored by the Education Department with the Promising Teacher Award.

PACE and Online Studies awarded Jason Weatherly as their Outstanding PACE Student.

The Social Studies Department presented the John L. Ferguson History Award to Seth McLemore.

The Communication Department presented the Outstanding Oral Communication Award to Landon Riddle.  Jake Tyson, Tower newspaper editor; Jessica Sawyer, Tower Web editor; Addie Bender and Macaela Shieldnight, Carillon yearbook co-editors, and Chelsea Riddle, Tower Photography editor were honored with the Student Media Leadership Recognition. The Outstanding Journalism and Multimedia Communication Award was presented to Lauren Pharr.

The Math and Science Department honored Cole Johnson with the Outstanding Science Graduate award, Austin Kocher won the Freshman Chemistry Award, Hattie Horn was chosen as the recipient of the Organic Chemistry Award, and the Top Scores on the Science Majors Test went to: Cole Johnson, Jessica Merritt, and Tatum Gombard.
