MUD WEEK

M.U.D. WEEK

To help make your transition to college easier CBC provides a week-long orientation program called M.U.D. Week (Mustangs Under Development).

New students attend various mandatory sessions during the day. In the afternoon and evenings, students are encouraged to attend fun activities such as the President’s Dinner, Karaoke Night, Campus-Wide Capture the Flag, and more!

All events are FREE to all new students.

How M.U.D. Week Works

M.U.D. Week is all about helping new students build friendships and discover ways to get involved on campus, and it begins the moment you arrive on campus!

New students (aka “Ponies”) are separated into four color groups: red, orange, yellow, and green. Students are encouraged to wear their team color until the last night of M.U.D. Week when they all attend the Blue Party.

Throughout the week, students learn about CBC traditions & services and participate in a variety of competitions to gain points for their team. At the end of the week, teams compete in The Mud Run, a campus-wide relay race ending in a giant mud slide!

The team with the most points is awarded “The Post” which is proudly displayed in the Student Services office for the entire year. Upon completion of the M.U.D. Week program, Ponies are granted the status of “Mustangs!”

M.U.D. Week is not just for on-campus students. Off-campus students will also join their color team to attend and participate in all of the activities!

CBC 1301

Principles of Collegiate Success is a course required for all first time entering freshmen and transfer students who have earned less than 15 hours of college credit. Traditional or adult students.

This course is designed to help all new students with their transition to college and CBC. Students will learn about CBC policies and services offered; academic skills; career readiness skills; critical thinking; personal responsibility; and so much more.

This course will not only give students a better sense of belonging at CBC but will set them up for success.
