Central Baptist College Announces New Trustees

The Baptist Missionary Association of Arkansas, in their November 2024 annual meeting, elected four new members to serve five-year terms on the Central Baptist College Board of Trustees beginning in 2025. They are Mr. Michael Benefield of Emerson, Ark., Dr. Andy Chisum of Greenbrier, Ark.; Bro. Chris Lucy of Springhill, La., and Dr. Jennifer Weaver of Greenbrier, Ark.


Mike Benefield has served in the oil and gas industry for 42 years as a landman. Benefield received a BBA degree from Southern State College. Mike and his wife Bonnie have two children and seven grandchildren. They are members of Brister Baptist in Emerson where Mike serves as Deacon and on the Missionary Committee. This will be Benefield’s first board term and will serve 2025-2029.


Andy Chisumis Superintendent of Mayflower School District of Mayflower, Ark. where he has served for four years. Chisum received his Bachelors (Health/PE, Coaching) from Arkansas Technical University. He received Master and Specialist degrees in Education Leadership from Harding University. He then earned a Doctorate in Education Leadership from Harding. Chisum serves as Secretary on the Arch Ford Education Service Cooperative where he has served since 2013. Andy and his wife Sidney have two children and attend First Baptist Church of Damascus. This will be Chisum’s first board term and will serve 2025-2029.


Chris Lucy has served as Pastor of First Baptist Church of Springhill, La. for four years. Lucy attended Central Baptist College and also received a Bachelor of Science (Elementary Education) from Southern Arkansas University. He currently serves as a Corporation Trustee for the BMA of Louisiana and on the Louisiana Tech Board of Trustees in Ruston, La. He and his wife Wendy have two children, and they are expecting their first grandchild this month. This will be Lucy’s first board term and will serve 2025-2029.


Jennifer Weaver is a Dentist at Conway Family Dental in Conway, Ark., where she has served for 23 years. Weaver received a Bachelor of Science-Biology (DDS) degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. Weaver has been s a member of the Arkansas State Dental Association and the American Dental Association since 1999. She and her husband Travis Weaver have two children and are members of Springhill Baptist Church in Greenbrier, Ark. Weaver is returning to the board for her second term 2025-2029.


“I have been extremely blessed with strong leadership on the Board of Trustees” said CBC President Terry Kimbrow. “I’m looking forward to adding these men and women to the twenty-member board and drawing on their expertise.”


CBC Board Officers for 2025 include: Chairman Bro. Kirk Shelton of Fayetteville, Ark.; Vice Chairman Bro. Chris Vines of Hope, Ark.; Secretary Mrs. Kellie Harper of Sarepta, La.; and Assistant Secretary Mrs. Judy Wallace of Bald Knob, Ark.
