Mustangs Open NCCAA Central Region Basketball Tournament on Thursday

Lakewood, CO -Colorado Christian University is the site for the 2016 NCCAA Central Region Basketball Tournament being played March 10-12. The Central Baptist College Mustangs are the fourth seed and will open play on Thursday, March 10th at 3PM (2PM CST). (www.cbcmustangs.com will take on the fifth seeded Central Christian College (CCC) Tigers in the opening game of the Men's Tournament. 


The Tigers come into the tournament with an 18-12 record and are coached by Tony Romero in his seventh season. CCC is lead in scoring by Michael Gholston (17.2 PPG) and Alonzo Stafford (16.5 PPG). Stafford is also the Tigers leading rebounder with 294 total for a 9.8 per game average. The Mustangs (12-16, 8-14 AMC) have three players averaging in double figures going into the contest. Fred Albright has scored 415 pts (14.8 PPG),Jayln McBride (12.3PPG) and James Brown(11 PPG). Mike Evans has dominated the boards with 221, a 7.8 average per game. The winner of the game will take on top seeded Southwestern Christian at 2:00 pm (CST) on Friday.
